Firstly, its important to identify the type of payment method your chosen causes uses before you can update your payment details to make the payment. Once you have updated your payment method, reach out to a member of the Virtue team via the chat function or [email protected] to re-run the failed payment.
Causes received funds from Virtue via one of four avenues (PayPal Giving Fund, Stripe, Manual or via Virtue), which use 3 separate payment methods (PayPal, Stripe or Manual Payment).

If you are donating to one of Virtue's Impact Partners, your payments will be taken out of the card you use to pay your Virtue Subscription. Update your card & billing details, as seen in this article.
If you are donating to a cause you have added yourself, you are required to make your donation manually. For a full list of instruction on how to make this payment and process its verification, check out this article.

If you are donating to one of Virtue's +60,000 charities through the PayPal Giving Fund, go to this section within the app to update your PayPal details. Alternatively, if it appears to you, select the link at the top of your page in the yellow banner saying "Add your card via Paypal for your upcoming donations to our Paypal partnered Causes".
(Note: the majority of the charities on the site and donations made are via the PayPal Giving Fund. If you have not added your own charity or are donating to one of Virtue's Impact Partners, chances are this applies to you)
